We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Network & Systems Engineer, focused on Monitoring & Site Reliability to join our team in Mount Maunganui full-time. This is a varied role and is perfect for somebody who can confidently optimize multiple streams of work. You will be responsible for a mixture of BAU systems support, development of our internal monitoring and systems management platforms while working with some of the Bay of Plenty’s largest organizations on the deployment, management & continual improvement of their monitoring platforms.

Given the nature of the IT industry and the variety of challenging work involved in providing our clients and customers with competitive products and services, it is important that you understand what is required in the various aspects of the business. As a result, you will be required to carry out a variety of different responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have:
5+ Years of Server Infrastructure Support/Systems Administration with WINTEL & Linux Environments including:
- Windows Server operating systems (2008 R2 and up)
- Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint)
- Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- VMWare vSphere, vCentre
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- Backup & DR Tools (Veeam, Commvault, Azure Backup & Site Recovery)
5+ Years Experience & Skills in the Use, Deployment & Management of Infrastructure Monitoring and Dashboarding Tools, including:
- Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
- Azure Monitor
3+ Years Experience in Networks Support/Administration
- Firewall Deployment & Management (Fortigate or Palo Alto Preferred)
- SD-WAN and or WAN Deployments
- Switch Deployment & Management (Aruba/Cisco Preferred)
- Wireless Network Deployment & Management
- Cloud Networking Experience (Azure preferred)
Experience with version control, such as Git, GitHub or GitLab
Experience with web services (REST, JSON)
Experience with container technology such as Docker and associated tools
Experience with scripting languages: Python & PowerShell preferred
Strong Documentation skills and practices
Excellent communication skills
Hold a current unrestricted NZ drivers license
